Badin Lake

Badin Lake is a reservoir located in central North Carolina, in the Uwharrie Mountains region. The lake is a popular spot for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. It covers about 5,350 acres, has over 115 miles of shoreline, and was created in 1917 by the damming of the Yadkin River. The lake is surrounded by the Uwharrie National Forest and has several public access points and recreational areas, including the Badin Lake Campground, the Badin Lake Recreation Area, and the Dutch John Boat Access. The lake is also a popular destination for bird watching and wildlife viewing, as the surrounding forests are home to a variety of species such as bald eagles, ospreys, and black bears.
